Reverse mortgage in the Italian market: a new start?

The reverse mortgage, which allows homeowners older than 60 to convert part of the equity in their homes into cash retaining home ownership, is a well-established instrument abroad but not yet in Italy. The reverse mortgage has been recently modified in Italy by a new law, collecting the proposals of ABI and consumer associations and aimed to strengthen guarantees for all parties concerned.
