After the sharp fall in investments by companies in Italy and in Europe, following the crisis and the recession, the current global economic situation is showing a general recovery in the most advanced economies. Also in Italy, starting from 2014-2015, strong signs of improvement mainly concerned investments in equipment and machinery as well as intangible assets, while the construction sector has not yet shown a clear recovery. The results of the Eib Investment Survey confirm this trend, but in Italy a continuous attention is needed to avoid regulatory uncertainty and rigidity and, from the public sector side, a greater capacity to generate high quality projects.
