The digital finance package adopted by the European Commission consists of four very important proposals for regulations. The first two are dedicated to crypto-assets, Mica (Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation) and Pilot (pilot regime for market infrastructures based on Dlt technology). The Dora Regulation is dedicated to cyber-security in the financial sector, while on April 21st the proposal on Artificial Intelligence was presented. The objectives of the regulations are ambitious: to remove the fragmentation of the digital single market, to facilitate innovation, to adopt a European data strategy, to manage new risks. Harmonisation of rules and centralised European supervision can play an essential role in the global competition with the Us and China and for the future of the European financial sector.
