The Esg transition of the Banking industry and the Cfo’s role

The increasing attention on sustainability from Regulators, Institutional investors and clients is pushing banks to fasten the transformation of their operating business model, towards the targets defined by the Un and Eu. In Accenture’s view, the Cfo area can accelerate the transition towards an «Esg inside Bank». With this purpose a model outlining the activation journey has been defined. The pivotal elements are: the identification of non-financial metrics to define the transformation progress status over strategic targets; the engagement ability from key internal functions (Accountability); the activation of measurable actions (Consequence Management); the evolution of planning and monitoring processes (Sustainable Enterprise Performance Management).
