Ucits and individuals investing in start-ups or innovative Smes: features and tax breaks

The birth and development of innovative start-ups have been, since 2012 and with subsequent regulations, at the core of an organic framework aimed at encouraging investments in these companies, recognizing sizeable tax benefits to those who invest directly or through Investment Funds. These benefits were then extended to innovative Smes, with important additions for individuals, while the Italian Revenue Agency clarified the requirements for Funds that invest in start-ups and innovative Smes to be considered qualified.
