The latest report of Ipcc, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the scientific forum that analyzes climate change, its impacts, and mitigation strategies, i.e. reduction of climate-altering gas emissions, is very clear. It is necessary to act along two directions: adapting to a climate that has already changed, and engaging in mitigating actions that will avoid even greater risks in the years to come. In this context, this article discusses risks and opportunities for the financial industry, which must play a key role in the energy transition.
