Artificial Intelligence technologies enable improved forecasting, optimization of operations, allocation of resources, and personalization of services. In the field of Anti-Money Laundering they can facilitate decisions, expanding the analysis of data and critical interconnections. But negligent, malicious or unsupervised use of Ai, and human error, can generate compliance risks for businesses and threaten people's interests and fundamental rights. Ethical considerations, legislation, jurisprudence, the European Union and world leaders converge towards a use of algorithms that is proportionate to the risks, serves and auxiliaries to human decision-making.
