Banks and the Nrrp: strategic relevance and related initiatives

This article aims to analyze the impact that the Nrrp had on banking strategies and activities in Italy, and the supporting role that banks play in the implementation of the Plan, through, for example, the providing of additional resources and specific consulting activities. We realize two separate research activities, consisting of a Text analysis of the Strategic plans of the four Italian systemically important banking groups, and of a request to the same groups for specific information regarding the activities introduced in pursuit of Nrrp-related goals. The study shows how the Plan had a relevant impact on banks' strategies, commercial offers and organisation, and how banks can play an effective role in supporting the implementation of Nrrp measures, especially through the support of the productive system.
