Despite the pandemic, the energy crisis and the inflationary wave, banks' resilience has been demonstrated by every supervisory review. The exit from the emergency and the challenging path towards the energy transition and the digital future require an integrated, efficient European banking system. That is why there is a need for clear, uniform, and flexible rules. A great deal of work is needed to simplify and integrate the various regulations, because there cannot be a single capital market with 27 different and sometimes contradictory legislations. For this reason, ABI has indicated to European legislators the priorities to be addressed, the obstacles to be removed and the objectives towards economic growth.
