Bper Banca’s sustainability strategy

Sustainability issues have taken on a new relevance, affecting the economy and the banking sector in several aspects. For climate change, for example, the emergence of both physical and transitional risks can cause damage to buildings and companies or the obsolescence of entire production chains; a sad example of this is what happened in Emilia- Romagna in May. The experience of Bper, which is acting both by implementing Esg actions and aiming to change the business model, shows that the real challenge is precisely to identify a serious, credible, achievable, and accountable sustainability path, adaptable to a constantly evolving context. And strongly support smaller companies, often active in less polluting sectors, which may miss the opportunity to raise capital at lower costs.
