Studying affective factors that form attitudes is an increasingly relevant topic in the field of financial education. In this contribution, we study the relations between financial knowledge and the mix of belief systems regarding finance, emotional disposition towards finance and self-efficacy beliefs related to this subject, collectively referred to as «financial attitude». The observational-correlational research on a sample of Economics university students in Northern Italy in year 2019/2020 shows a strong correlation between attitude and knowledge, and clarify that the former affects the latter. Hence, data are coherent with the idea of working on financial attitude to increase financial knowledge. This study documents the need to investigate (and eventually restructure) the person’s viewpoint towards finance, her/his feelings related to finance, and her/his self-efficacy perceptions.
