The economic picture resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic is characterized by a high heterogeneity of effects both at sectoral level and per company. The shock is producing, and will continue to produce in the next two years, highly differentiated effects depending on the different impact of closures due to different types of production, the seasonality of the business, the risk of product obsolescence and the degree of dependence on fixed costs such as rents, lease fees or financial charges. The 2020 revenue slump will not be fully recovered in 2021 and it will be necessary to wait until 2022 to return to pre-crisis levels of turnover, while the operating margin of different economic sectors will remain well below pre-crisis levels also in 2022.
