In his recent Rimini speech, former Ecb president Mario Draghi makes several interesting suggestions, which could help Italy and Europe to face the Covid crisis. On one side, in order to favour strong economic recovery and make its public debt sustainable, Italy must be able to carry out productive investments financed by the various European Funds. On the other, in order to make progress on a number of key issues for the construction of a more integrated Union, Europe needs to adopt a more pragmatic policy approach.
