The multifaceted phenomenon of open banking is ill-suited to exclusively sectoral and specialist approaches; transversality and interdisciplinarity are key factors for its understanding. Regulators and Supervisors are committed to the governance of transformation, looking for a balance between the need to encourage the unfolding of new possibilities and that of preserving protected interests from risks. The analysis carried out reveals the centrality of Customer data and the need to define the correct boundaries of their exploitation, the growing use of digital tools alternative to cash, also as a result of the pandemic, the development of online platforms, and markets no longer physical, which also operate through mobile devices.
