The introduction of bail-in regulation doesn’t seem to be an efficient solution in facing bank crises, while it creates a climate of uncertainty among depositors and of instability in the markets. In critical situations, public intervention in banks can help to assure financial stability. Private intervention and sectorial commitments can be helpful to defend industry’s reputation, especially for small and temporary support.
