The success of a bank in the future depends both on new investments to be made now, essential to face the two titanic challenges in the digital and green fields, and on the rethinking of current business models and the current regulatory framework. Regulation and innovation are two powerful drivers of change, if the rules follow changes promptly, consistently, and adequately. In this way, banks will be able to contribute to the search for global solutions, to the financing of new business investments, and to strengthening the link with the capital markets.
