The challenge of sustainability: big corporations, Smes and corporate governance

The sustainability of the company is a corporate governance issue and represents a real challenge for Italy: that of involving not only large companies, many of which are already compliant and can face the costs of becoming so, but above all Smes, both those that are part of the value chain of big corporations and all the others, listed and not, which constitute the entrepreneurial core of the Italian economy. As for regards sustainability governance, the Italian Committee for Corporate Governance will continue to have contacts with the other European Committees to define a common framework of best practices and guidelines towards the transition to a sustainable and pluralistic capitalism. In any case, the role of self-discipline and the balance between discipline and self-discipline are certainly fundamental.
