Italian banks are facing important changes that can redefine the market scenario, with impacts on operations, strategic choices and business. The paper aims to analyze the main aspects that may impact Italian banks in the near future, namely: the normalization of monetary policy in Europe and the evolution of the macroeconomic framework; the new regulation with the finalization of Basel 3; the role of Artificial Intelligence and its uses. The issues addressed represent the basis for proposing critical considerations both on management and economic and financial aspects.
