The Italian manufacturing sector and the Covid-19 impact

The Coronavirus emergency impacted on the Italian manufacturing sector both on the demand and the supply side, recording an average drop of 15%. In this critical context, the only sector that goes against the trend is Pharmaceuticals, with an expected growth of 4.2% in 2020. By 2021, however, a significant rebound is expected, with a growth in deflated revenues of 5.3%. In the 2022-2024 period, manufacturing activity will continue along a path of gradual recovery, at annual rates of almost 3%.
