Since 1891, when Leo XIII published Rerum Novarum, it was evident that industrialization risked putting man at the service of the market. Faced with this difficult reality, a multifaceted charitable assistance activity was developed, aimed to take care, in a direct way, of people. In this line of evolution, Pope Leo XIV has reaffirmed the importance of the Church's social doctrine to respond to the challenges of the new industrial revolution to human dignity, justice and work. A management model based on service and multidisciplinarity, on the care of people and things, supporting the integral development of human capital, can constitute an ethical reference standard also in the academic field, as a tool to respond to the challenges of the new «social question».
