Giuseppe Boccuzzi's book Banking crises in Italy (2014-2020), recently published by Bancaria Editrice, was an opportunity to analyze in depth some of the most important events of recent years and above all to discuss the future of crisis management regulation in Europe and on the completion of the Banking Union with the creation of a European Deposit insurance system. The seminar saw eight leading experts provide a number of very useful proposals for drawing up the new framework. Simplifying the rules and streamlining processes, ensuring flexibility in management, rethinking the concept of public interest, redrawing rules for small banks, strengthening the role of national funds: these are some of the ideas that have emerged from the debate, which will be of great importance in the process of reforming European legislation.
